Bloomberg sources corroborate an earlier KGI report that Apple is working on high-end, over-ear headphones intended to compete with Bose. The report adds a couple of specifics, but both of them were already no-brainers … Bloomberg says that the headphones will be noise-cancelling, and offer the same wireless pairing functionality as AirPods. Sources say they will incorporate some of the HomePod tech, likely a reference to the multiple noise-cancelling microphones....

Apple is set to launch an official first-party presence in India, with the launch of the Apple Online Store beginning next month according to a report today from Bloomberg. This lines up with a Q3 timeline reported by TechCrunch earlier this year. Apple is finally able to start direct sales in the region as Indian government rules that companies must source 30% of components domestically were relaxed last year. The launch of the Indian Apple Online Store will be followed by the opening of physical stores, starting in Mumbai....

A new report from Bloomberg this evening says that Apple is “designing and producing its own device displays,” which is a first for the company. Citing people familiar with the situation, the report explains that Apple using a secret manufacturing facility near its headquarters in California… Specifically, the report says that Apple is making “a significant investment” in the development of MicroLED displays. These screens use newer light-emitting compounds that make them brighter, thinner, and less power-intense than the current OLED displays....

The recent teaser trailer for Marvel’s Black Widow offers a first look at the movie’s villain, Taskmaster, whose costume has been noticeably changed from the comics. Focusing on what happened to Natasha Romanoff after she was forced to go into hiding in the wake of Captain America: Civil War, the movie will go back to Black Widow’s roots and introduce her former “family” of Russian spies and superheroes: Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), and Melina (Rachel Weisz)....

The biopic is one of Hollywood’s oldest genres, going back to early-20th century movies about historical figures like Beethoven, Cleopatra, and General Custer.
