Namely, some of Bloodstained’s modes were missing, as was a previous console and PC launch day DLC, Iga’s Backpack.

A relatively new iOS and Android update (which was released last week, and we just missed at the time) moves Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on mobile a step closer to those other versions with the inclusion of Boss Rush Mode, Speed Run Mode, and Sound Mode.

Boss Rush is exactly what it sounds like: a mode for the most hardcore Ritual of the Night players. It pits you against a continuous stream of the game’s bosses, some of which are incredibly unforgiving, with Zangetsu being only the beginning.

Speed Run Mode is for those that want to test their skills at beating the game as quickly as possible. It features the basic game, just with all of the cutscenes and dialog bits removed.

Finally, Sound Mode is a way to simply listen to Bloodstained’s score on the go (since it’s criminally not on Spotify already). It also allows for listening to every bit of the game’s soundscape, including individuals sounds, tracks, and other recordings.

The update squashes a few “known” bugs, “optimizes the operating system,” and adds “operation panel customization function in configuration.”

All of that comes alongside the release of the Iga’s Backpack DLC for mobile. It adds a new whip to Ritual of the Night, as well as “a super powerful boss: Koji Igarashi himself.”

The mobile versions have sadly yet to receive the Classic Mode DLC, which turns Ritual of the Night’s 2.5D perspective into traditional, old-school 2D, but maybe that’s coming soon. Fans can only hope.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is available on iOS and Android devices for $9.99. The Iga’s Backpack DLC is $0.99.
