Despite how important it is, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt doesn’t do a great job of explaining the Blood Resonance system. We’ll go over what it is and how it can be a boon to your time with the game in this guide.

Bloodhunt Resonance Types

Resonance is passive bonuses that can be applied to your character for the length of a match, and the only way to get them is by sucking the blood of specific NPCs that have “Resonant Blood”.

The only way to find these NPCs is by hitting the X key to activate your heightened senses, which will then let you see a colored aura around certain NPCs.

There are four different colors that all apply to different bonuses, as you can see below. Each bonus has three different ranks you can get, and each Resonant NPC you feast on grants one rank in their specific color/type.

Sanguine (Pink) — Increases your health regeneration per second. (Tiers are . 5, 1. 5, and 3. 0) Melancholic (Purple ) — Reduces the cooldown of Clan Skills. (Tiers are -10%, -25%, and -50%) Choleric (Orange) — Increases melee damage. (Tiers are +10%, +25%, and +50%) Phlegmatic (Teal) — Reduces the cooldown of Archetype Skills. (Tiers are -10%, -25%, and -50%)

Whenever you spawn into a match you’ll want to pop on your heightened vision immediately and look for any nearly Resonant NPCs. Of course, keep in mind the effects of each one as you’ll want to choose whichever boost supports your own personal playstyle.

As other players gain more equipment and explore more the number of Resonant NPCs is going to go down, so grab them while you can.

Bloodhunt: How to Unlock Resonant Slots

During any Bloodhunt match, you can only fill three slots from any of the four Resonance categories. However, there is a way to keep adding more, and that’s by Diablerising enemies, which is basically executing them.

When an enemy is downed you’ll want to run up and hold down the F key in order to Diablerise them, instead of just outright killing them.

By Diablerising multiple enemies, you can effectively double or triple the number of Resonance slots you’re able to use during one match.

That’s how Blood Resonance works in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt. Check out our other guides for the game here on GameSkinny.
